One spray later, I was reaching for my wallet and wondering what hit me. I'm not one for flowery girly fragrances, and some are enough to make me break out in a sneezing fit, but this one - well, we were an instant match. Mediterranean by Elizabeth Arden combines citrus with flowers and woods, and the end result is an unforgettable scent which can translate easily from day to night, without being overpowering. The only thing that needs improving is that the smell doesn't linger as long as other fragrances, and you may need to refresh after a few hours if needed. The blend includes Peach Nectar Sorbet, Sicilian Mandarin, Damask Plum, Radiant Wisteria, Star Magnolia, Madagascar Orchid, Sandalwood, Blonde Woods and Fluid Skin Musk with a touch of Golden Amber. It's good, but not great, on me.In the opening, it has that magnolia note that is a bit plastic-like to me. After a short drydown, Mediterranean wears like a woody musk skin scent on me. It's one of the few perfumes my DH actually has said anything about. After a nuzzle, he said, "You smell good." Translation from male-speak: "This is one of the best things you wear. Wear it again." I really enjoy it dry, and I would wear it more often ... if it wasn't for that plastic magnolia! |
