Amazon.com Product Description

Set sail with confidence and style to points unknown with this classic Omega Seamaster stainless steel men's Swiss quartz movement watch, a highly accurate timepiece that's as comfortable negotiating deals in the boardroom as it is navigating the breaking seas. It's also a great diving watch, with water resistance to 300 meters (984 feet), screw-down helium release valve at 10 o'clock, and easy-to grasp rotating bezel--even with wet suit gloves. Definitively masculine in design, it features a large, round silver stainless steel watch case that blends brushed and polished surfaces and measures 41mm (1.61 inches) wide and 11.5mm (0.45 inches) deep. This watch includes an aluminum unidirectional rotating bezel black with silver engraved ten-minute marks (in large Arabic numerals).

The black dial background is accented by a Geneva wave pattern and it includes large, luminous Dauphine hands (with seconds hand) and baton dial markers, as well as a window at 3 o'clock for the date display. Other features include a screw-in caseback, screw-locked crown, 44-hour power reserve, and scratch-resistant and glare-proofed domed sapphire crystal. It's completed by a silver stainless steel link bracelet band that offers polished highlights, which is joined by a secure, push-button clasp. This adjustable band measures 7 inches in length.

The Omega Story
The Omega watch story begins in 1848, when founder Louis Brandt began hand assembling key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen in his principality La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the northwest corner of Switzerland. However, the Omega name didn't appear until 1894, after Louis Brandt had passed away and his watchmaking traditions were taken over by his sons, Louis-Paul and Cesar Brandt. Omega watches have long been associated with glamorous screen and sports stars--the Omega Seamaster is famous for being the watch of choice for James Bond--with current ambassadors including Pierce Brosnan, Nicole Kidman, tennis player Anna Kournikova, and swimmers Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe.

But Omega is more than just a fashionable watch. In 1965, the Omega Speedmaster chronograph was "flight-qualified by NASA for all manned space missions" as the only wristwatch to have withstood all of the U.S. space agency's severe tests, including passing grades for extreme shocks, vibrations, and temperatures ranging from -18 to +93 degrees Celsius. The greatest moment in the Speedmaster's history was undoubtedly 20 July 1969 at 02:56 GMT, when it recorded man's first steps on the Moon's surface as part of the Apollo 11 mission. Today, Omega is known for its rigorous testing of new movements, cases, and bands. Each new Omega movement is tested on the wrist in existing Omega models, while various laboratory tests are conducted to determine temperature-resistance, shock-resistance and vibration-resistance.

4.0 out of 5 stars Omega Seamaster-Great Watch, May 28, 2009
This review is from: Omega Men's 2264.50.00 Seamaster 300M Quartz Watch (Watch)
I have owned this watch now for two days and I thought I would give an interested buyer my initial thoughts. I have had my eye on this watch for quite sometime now and I am very glad that I purchased it. When I first put it on I thought it was to big for my wrist but now I think it fits just fine. Its a large watch at 41mm but the midsize Seamaster seemed to small. Unless you have an unusually small wrist you should be okay with this size. My wrist is about 7 1/2 just to give you an idea.

The watch has a nice weight to it and balances very nicely on the wrist. The dial and markers are very clear and the numbers stay bright for a good period of time. The dial has a nice wave design to it which looks much better in person. The band is a decent weight but I thought for a watch of this price that it would be a little heavier. Non the less the band is very sturdy and does not appear cheap at all. The clasp is great and very secure. Overall I have no regrets purchasing this watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best, December 29, 2007
This review is from: Omega Men's 2264.50.00 Seamaster 300M Quartz Watch (Watch)
This is simply the best watch IMO, that being said, not sure how many folks would actually want to go diving and potentially scratch/damage their Omega.

Fit and finish is absolutly perfect, the bold face, wavy background and simple yet stunning lines are only appreciated by true watch lovers. Many folks think $1K+ is too much for any watch, they are simply wrong.

On the flip note, I do have a Seiko dive watch SKX173 (also a fantastic watch)... that I do not mind banging and possibly damaging again, price does matter when it comes to rough sports.

My TAG diver is also very nice but nothing compares to the Omega.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Watch Ever !, June 19, 2006
This review is from: Omega Men's 2264.50.00 Seamaster 300M Quartz Watch (Watch)
I've owned this exact Omega Seamaster model for 5 years now (and haven't yet needed to change the battery). It only gains 5 seconds per month (that's only 1 minute per year !). I have owned 2 Rolex watches (both Explorer II) at different times in the past. Both Rolex watches consistently lost 5 minutes per month.

This Omega Seamaster is a real "man's watch" - big, heavy, solid, great looking, water & shock proof, and you'll look good wearing it anywhere - to the beach, the club, the office, or the golf course. You may not look like Pierce Brosnan in 007 (check out his Omega Seamaster), but you'll certainly feel like "Bond, James Bond" when you strap this one on.
