4.0 out of 5 stars Old MMO but still fun., August 15, 2006
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Everquest: Titanium (CD-ROM)
In some ways Everquest hasn't changed all that much, while in others it is a completely different game from what it was even a year ago. Some things about the game have been drastically improved (like tradeskills) and if you like a more quiet atmosphere on a game server; the population is a little lower these days as most of the kiddies have moved on to World of Warcraft, EQ2, etc.

If you have friends still playing the original Everquest, or are just looking for something to do to pass the time, EQ Titanium just might work for you.

This packaged game does include 10 of the expansions, more than enough to play with old buddies if you've taken a leave of absence like I did a little over a year ago. The price is the major factor for this unit, as the expansions individually do not come cheap.

Overall 4 stars for affordability, 4 stars for fun factor (There aren't as many people to play with, making the game just a bit slower paced for casual gamers.)

5.0 out of 5 stars EXcellent going back to 99, August 3, 2010
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Everquest: Titanium (CD-ROM)
The virtue of Titanium is not so much that it contains all the EQ extensions .
The biggest merit is that with Titanium you can access to Project 99 .
Project 99 is a custom server (google EQ project 99) which starts with the classic content and goes only to Velious following the progress as it was when original EQ was released .
I stopped EQ 8 years ago but heard recently about Project 99 .
We are actually pre Kunark and despite the graphics , the game is still as awesome as it was in 99 .
Difficult , challenging , team oriented , high risk/reward ratio .
The server has a big success and it is really fun to cross again East Commons full of people shouting "WTB Skull shaped barbute" , "WTS spider silk" .
Looking at the MMORPG evolution during these last 10 years , one realises how really good EQ was .

5.0 out of 5 stars New Progression, August 15, 2006

There is no game even close to offering the content you will get in this package, even if this was selling at $100. Now is the best time to try EverQuest if you never have due to the new EverQuest Progression servers that slowly unlock content to keep you from being overwhelmed as a new player, as well as bring back memories for older players. Stop regretting not having played during EQ's prime and give her a spin.
