Body Composition Scale—Measures Weight, Body Fat, Body Water, Muscle and Bone Mass
Body weight only presents part of your overall fitness state. In addition to weight, this scale measures Body Fat, Body Water, Bone Mass, and Muscle Mass giving you a clearer picture of your health condition.
Industry Standard BIA Technology at a Great Price
This scale employs the same BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis) technology found in other (more expensive) scales in the market. BIA is the process of using a very light electrical impulse to measure the amount of Body Water and Body Fat in your body. This advanced integrated circuitry goes one step further to deliver Bone Mass and Muscle Mass readings.

TFY High-Capacity Scale with Body Composition Analyzer - Measures Body Fat, Hydration, Muscle and Bone Mass - Five Athletic Modes - 12 Personal Profiles (440 lb.) Reviews
| By This review is from: TFY High-Capacity Scale with Body Composition Analyzer - Measures Body Fat, Hydration, Muscle and Bone Mass - Five Athletic Modes - 12 Personal Profiles (440 lb.) This product is definitely not geared towards powerlifters/strongmen, but it still functions well. For me, I just have to take the calculations an extra step. It usually reads that I have low muscle mass, but I can calculate total pounds of muscle from the percentage. If I then do my own muscle mass percentage based on if I had a leaner build (i.e. lower bodyweight/bodyfat%), then my muscle percentage is higher than the norm. Scale works very well. Does everything as stated in the description. I particularly like that the information stays on the readout after you step off the scale and the in a short while it shuts down. When you get back on the scale and access your profile, your last reading is there. Also, I like they way it looks. If you are particularly muscular, this scale doesn't seem to be very accurate for calculating muscle and BF percentage.Even when set in athlete mode, it still appears to modestly overestimate BF and seriously underestimate muscle mass...I lift weights frequently, can deadlift 600lbs and compete as a strongman and it told me that my muscle mass percentage was unhealthy low... Otherwise, it is quite nice and for my wife, who is probably closer to "normal" it seems to give accurate readings. |
