Being a stone Chic fan, it didn't faze me one bit when it came to purchasing this collection of Chic/Chic-written/Chic-produced tunes. For me, out of all the stellar tunes in this collection, was the rare 12" Mix of "My Forbidden Lover" on Disc 2. I stumbled into it on YouTube and was glad to find it available! Other jewels for me, personally were "High Society" performed by Norma Jean Wright (just try and find the Norma Jean Wright CD - it will still cost you plenty for a used copy!), and the Carly Simon "Why" in it's full 8+ minute format (my personal favorite by Ms. Simon!). There's something for everyone (Chic, that is...)!

Find yourself a copy at a good price and celebrate!

I rate this collection: 5 stars!

Having grown up in the 70's and 80's, this box set is essential listening either purely on a groovin level or as a timepiece for how classic disco music existed and was created. Nile Rodgers, Bernard Edwards, Tony Thompson, Rob Sabino, Fonzi Thornton, Luci Martin, Michelle Cobbs and the rest of the Chic Organization all helped to create a new sound (how many artists can make that claim!) based on soul, blues, jazz and then expanded it to the dancefloor. An amazing listening experience just to listen to Bernard Edwards' bass, Nile Rodgers guitar, turn this baby up loud, and you will MOVE.
Famed remixer extraordinaire Dimitri From Paris handled six remixes and there are unreleased outtakes, and even more exciting are three of the eight songs Chic did with the legendary Johnny Mathis from the 1980 unreleased album, "I Love My Lady".
It took 30 years but to have these three collaborations with Johnny Mathis makes this box set a complete joy! Johnny Mathis holds a note (for... Read more
